Project details

Splines... splines everywhere! I was tasked with a small-team to model low poly versions of elements from San Francisco and micro organisims, and then wrap them using 3d splines. It was challenge to wrap the objects organically while still maintaining the object's distinguishable shilloutte and shape. In collaberation with another artist, we were able to come up with an automated spline wrapping tool in Softimage ICE to make the process less tedious. Then it was just a matter of quickly tweaking the splines to fit in the same universe as hand-wrapped objects. Once the spline work was done, the scene or object was then handed back to Cinema 4d for render. Towards the end of production, I switched over to assist with compositing shots.
